Sunday Long Run

Met Daz and A.A at Drummoyne carpark for our usual sunday long run. Cycled over - 6k via Victoria rd.

8.30 am sunny, warm - Is this really winter ? About 15 degrees and progressively got warmer during the run - almost shirts off weather. Daz was only doing 15k today but A.A. and I were doing 2 laps of our usual bay, loop, canal.

Started off really slow (5.30 pace) but picked up the pace after a few k's. Passed 10k in 50.08 but we were starting to pick up the pace now - dropped off Daz at 13k so he could return while we continued on for the second lap. Last 11.62 k in 53.56 (4.38 pace). As we came down the hill from Callan Park there was another runner moving quite well below us - he looked up and then picked up his pace. We thought we would try to catch him before we finished - we had about 1.6 k's to go but at first we weren't making any headway - the garmin had us running at 15 k/h but the guy ahead finally slowed as we went up the steps and onto the bridge - we surged past now travelling quite fast and finished up running the last k in 3.26 - a great way to finish.

Total 21.62 k in 104.04. (4.48 average pace)

Total for the week of 78 k. With 3 speed sessions, 1 long run, and a couple of easy runs over six days running. Not a bad week.

Good to see runclubbers Caro, Martina and Lorna out doing their thing - keep up the good work girls - 14k today - well done !
