5 x 1k, 90 sec S.R.

Met up with Silverfox for tonights session. We ran from Newtown to CR5 - 4.5k easy warm-up & chatting. SF convinced me that 1k repeats would be a good idea and I am glad he did. There is nothing like doing a session that you know will do you good but that you really find hard to do, then having a good one.

Ran Intervals between CR5 and CR2 and return.

Strong winds, cool and light rain.

SF set a cracking pace for the first k, looking very strong. After the first 2 repeats I was 20-30m behind him for the next 3 .

1k 3.20 tailwind.
2k 3.20 tailwind.
3k 3.26 tailwind.
4k 3.39 headwind.
5k 3.36. headwind.

Ave 3.28.

The 4th k was very hard - the wind was so strong it felt like we were standing still at one point.

I called it quits after 5. Had my usual coughing attack after running hard and threw up my vegemite roll consumed 2 hours earlier.

SF did 6 and I jogged back to the start. We had a very cruisy jog home at 5 min pace chatting.

SF is running really well, I think he might surprise a few people on Saturday including himself.

Total 15.5k. Good confidence boost for me tonight.
