Striders 10k - Lane Cove - Race 5 - 38.41

After Friday's early run, Fiona and I headed up to Woy Woy to help my mum pack for my parents move back to Sydney, coupled with a visit to my Dad in Hornsby Hospital. By the time we got back it was pouring with rain, very windy and I was tired - seriously contemplated ringing Nick and cancelling the race in the morning. Decided that I would wait till the morning, I could always pull the pin then.
Glad I didn't as it turned out to be reasonably good conditions, a bit cool and quite damp (read humid) but not windy at least. Numbers were way down due to the weather and ANSW relays on in the arvo and I very quickly found myself running alone as the sub 37 min boys disappeared into the distance - at about 3k I was joined by Tim A and Andrew D. and we pretty much stayed together until about 8k when they took off and I couldn't keep up.
I have to say though that this was the least interested in a race I have been in awhile and if Nick wasn't picking me up I wouldn't have gone - to run under 39 mins with no motivation says more about my current fitness than anything else.

Did about 4k warm-up and no cool-down.

Absolutely froze at Netball about an hour later when the weather got uglier.
