Final week - race prep

Monday (-6)

Ran an easy 7k in 30 mins - probably a bit too fast but feeling very fresh.

Tuesday (-5)

Ran another 10k in 45 mins - nice and easy.

Both Achilles are a bit tender - probably because the calves are no longer as tight now that I'm tapering and they are having to do more work. Doesn't seem to affect my running - I can just feel them - we'll find out on Sunday.

Wednesday (-4)

Just an easy 6k in 27 mins (4.30 pace)
Feel like I'm hardly running at all now. Achilles still sore but no worse.

Thursday (-3)

3k w/u plus 3 laps of oval at Petersham.
10 mins of 30/30. Went pretty hard as I knew it was only a short session. Nice to run on the grass oval.
1 lap cool-down plus 3k home.

Total about 10k.

Will have a rest Friday unless I can sneak in a 20 min run after work.
Saturday will get out for an easy 20-25 mins on the grass oval near home and that should be that.
Feel bloody great except for the Achilles niggle - hopefully it holds together on Sunday.
Will probably wear the Brooks Burn - they felt excellent last night.
Carbo loading now - following the AIS fact sheet that Vat gave me - there's a link on his blog.
A truckload of (healthy) food in there and am starting to feel bloated but I guess that's the idea.

Good luck to everyone running on Sunday in whichever event you are entered in - it's all good.

If I don't post again before the race - this one's for Daz.

Sounds like all is on track and you have had a good taper.

Looking forward to seeing the results of all the hard training in your run on Sunday.
