weather for ducks

6.30pm Thursday.

Ran 3.5k @ 4.30 pace warm up from home around sydney park at St. Peters. Absolutely pissing down !!!Never saw another soul except for a few ducks in the now full lakes. Very wet under foot with large puddles that were hard to see in the dark but I loved it. I'm sure I'm not the only runner who loves this type of weather. Made it around to the oval and the lights were fully ablaze, but no one about here. Rain started to get very heavy and blowing sideways but had 12 mins of 30/30 to do - bitumen path around oval is flat and smooth so only a few puddles to dodge but the wind was now gale force. Covered 2.885k in 11.30 min. (1.9k of sprints in 12 x 30 secs = 3.10 pace) Hard work tonight, I was concerned about slipping over. Best rep 172m down wind, worst 152m upwind. This is the kind of session I would have given a miss in the past, so good to finish it. Ran 3.5k cool down @ 4.30 pace home.

Total 10k.

Rest tomorrow, Striders 10k on Saturday.

In other news, Selective High School placements were announced today and Bella got her 3rd choice and an A reserve place for her 2nd choice. We are all very pleased for her as she has worked very hard this last year and a half - now some deciding to do !
