week 9 of 15 - 33k 10_bridges loop - 2.40

As it turned out, I could have run the STaR today as soccer was washed out but I decided to sleep in a bit (until 7am anyway) and with yesterday's drama I wanted to make sure Fiona was o.k. before heading out. Headed thru the city and over the Harbour bridge and then hooked into the 10 bridges run until I got to Drummoyne and then headed round the Bay and home. Had a quick chat to the boys at Drummoyne but was starting to tighten up, so kept going.
Felt tired and a little sore the whole way today but finished it off about 5 mins faster than last time. It's a tough run with lots of slow bits - stairs, bush track (took 7 mins to cover 1k thru the bush section at Riverview college) and heaps of hills. Made up a bit of time thru the Bay run section where I was able to clock up 5 or so k's at 4.30 pace.
Pulled up fine after the run though.

Total for the week 117k.

CITY2SURF next week which is going to disrupt plans - might have to do the long run on Wednesday and try to get in about 24k at Sunday's race.

I hope Fiona is okay - that sounded a bit scarey. That said, I wish Nikki was allergic to hairdressing products though, we would save a fortune!(she wishes I was allergic to expensive running shoes...) Sounds like you got a cracking run in on sunday, well done mate.
