week 8 of 12 (ending 22.04.07)

Having a very relaxing week at home with the kids while they are on school holidays. Plenty of sleeping in, shopping, swimming and movies. This also means being able to run in the afternoon before it gets dark.

Monday - a very easy 13.2k in 59.15 (4.29 pace). Legs felt a bit heavy and tired.

Tuesday - 4.5k w/u down to CR5 marker. 6k tempo in 23.12 (3k out and back) turning at 2k marker at Dobroyd Point. Splits went 4.00, 3.57, 3.57, 3.50, 3.48, 3.40. The first 3k felt harder than the last 3k ? Which always seems to happen when I'm trying to run a controlled pace rather than just running freely. 4.5k easy jog home. 15k total.

Wednesday - 18k via the Bay and taking in a few hills via Balmain in the late afternoon sunshine - perfect ! 78.16 and 4.20 average pace.

Thursday - 4.5k w/u down to CR5 marker again. 5 x 4 min with a 2 min jog float. Went thru 5k in 19.48 and 7k in 27.20. Good effort tonight, the 2 min floats gave me enough time to recover to really push the 4 minuters. Covered 7.2k in 28 mins all up. 6.5k jog home for 18k all up.

Friday - very easy 7k with about 4k on the grass oval at Camperdown.

Saturday - up early (6am) to run with Tim and some of the girls from runclub. Nice enjoyable run round the SMH half course. Ran into the city via Pyrmont Bridge rd and Darling Harbour, lap of the course and back home again via Glebe & Pyrmont waterfronts for 26.5k in 2.06 (4.45 average pace) . Back home, shower and breakfast then out to Ally's netball where the girls won 19-3 in a very one-sided match.

Sunday - up reasonably early but not to run - Bella's soccer match instead at Marrickville at 9am. Girls lost 6-4 in a game that they fell asleep in for 30 mins. They were up 1-0 then the opposition scored 6 unanswered goals before banging in a few late goals.
Got out for 23k in 1h41 (4.24 pace) this afternoon bumping into Sue then running with Dili for 20 mins or so.

Total 121k for the week.

Some good sessions there Steve. Plenty of pace in those medium runs. Should be a great run in 4 weeks.

Thanks for your comments, I think I owe your butt some thanks considering I spent so much time chasing it over the last 12 months!

Planets havent been alligning lately, we should aim to catch up soon.
