Last couple of days
Thursday night headed down to Sydney Park again via King St and around the back of the park to get in a 3k warm-up in 12.44. Session was 10 x 1 min on/off covering 5.36k in 20 mins around the bitumen paths of the park. Got in 3.6k jog home to finish with 12k for the evening. Good solid session - very happy. Saw fellow strider Tim Lindop again taking his clients for a work-out.
It's a bit dark at Sydney Park (except around the oval which is floodlit) but plenty of smooth paths to run around especially near the lakes. Plenty of hills here too. Longarms rates this park as the toughest x-c venue in N.S.W and I reckon he's right. Some seriously hard hills, plus a good mix of bitumen and grass to run on. The only thing is the lack of lighting might put some people off plus the dickhead dog walkers.
Friday took Ally to the Easter show - we both complained about sore feet having been on them for about six hours but she had a lot of fun.
Today got out this morning for a 20k run from home into the city via George st and up into Hyde Park and down thru Mrs Macquaries Chair and The Botanic gardens, round the Opera House, the Rocks, Hickson rd, Darling Harbour, Pyrmont and over the Anzac bridge. Back down via Glebe and back up thru Annandale and home. Covered 20.01k in 90.11 at 4.30 pace. Another solid run considering all the hills and wind this morning. Pleasant morning to run on some of the SMH course, forgotten how nice it is to run around the city.
