Just ticking the legs over
Monday I got out for 13.1k in 59.50 (4.33 pace). Usual loop skirting the Bay and home via Victoria rd.
Tuesday, 3k w/u to Petersham oval. Oval in good condition now the cricket season is here.
8 x 1 min on/off. Pretty pleased with the effort, legs were turning over nicely but kept it short at this stage of the game. 3k c/d jog home. Total 10k.
Wednesday was going to run home from work but at 5pm it was still around 30 degs so opted to run when I got home. 10.25k loop in 45.48 (4.28 pace) started off sluggish but felt better as I went along.
Thursday met up with Nick for a session at Petersham oval. 3k w/u and then 5 x 2 min with a 1min float. covered a bit more than 10 laps in 15 mins. Felt pretty tidy tonight, running smoothly and could have done more but not much point at this stage. Just happy to keep the legs ticking over at a faster than normal pace. 3k c/d jog home. Total 10k.
Friday rest
Saturday and a very easy 10k round the waterfront at Glebe and home via Wentworth Park and Sydney Uni.
Sunday was Striders internal handicap 1/2 marathon at Lane Cove. 2 and a bit laps of the 10k course = a fairly tough run. Missed the start when my name was on one list and not another - got it sorted and lost about 16 secs. Managed 85.32 on my watch which I was pretty happy with being the hardest and longest I have run since the marathon 5 weeks ago. Most pleasing aspect was that 16k-21k was my fastest 5k in 19.58. Glad to see I haven't lost any aerobic fitness, and with only 2 weeks until the last Striders 10k of the year, I better find some speed from somewhere. Total 23k run today including w/u.
Total 76k for the week.
Just saw Little Miss Sunshine - it's the funniest movie I've seen for ages (and we watch a lot of movies - it's great when you've got a Dendy Cinema in your street).

85:32 is a great run on that course. Only a minute off the PB. I think you'll keep it in the 37's at Lane Cove next month.
